Purity Avenue is a ministry that reaches out to young teenage girls.
Isaiah 61:1-3 is the foundation of the ministry: “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favour and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and the garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendour.”
Most teenagers, especially females, struggle with their personal identity resulting in a series of bad decisions which have a deep and most of the times a permanent damage in their lives. Therefore, as Purity Avenue Ministry, we are based on Christian morals and values and committed to facilitate knowledge and principles that will instil: sense of self-worth based on godly values, self-discovery of their personality and character and motivate them to dream and become all God created them to be. When young girls know who they are and stand rooted in that truth, know why they exist and how valuable they are, they will be empowered to make wise choices for their lives. Their right, strong and true sense of identity in Christ will help them have a backbone to stand for who they are and their beliefs.
Purity ministry was officially launched on the 10th July 2012 in Jeffreys Bay. It’s focus being on the underprivileged communities namely: Ocean View, Tokyo Sexwale and Pellsrus.
