Projects
We have tons of exciting projects currently running under LXP Lesotho and we have big dreams for the future.
Currently, our primary need and fundraising goal is a vehicle. The distances we are required to walk or use public transport for our daily ministry and personal activities are tiring and time consuming. Additionally, it is becoming increasingly expensive to hire vehicles for use during our camps, outreaches, and building projects. We are trusting God for a vehicle to alleviate many of these challenges as we seek to grow as a ministry and be obedient to the vision we have been given. We have been blessed by a number of donations toward this goal, but we are still trusting for the total amount needed. Our vision for the future includes completion of our ministry base in the community. Our goal is to run our ministry programs from the base as well as provide a place to offer skills development workshops and training for community members.
The base development project includes multiple phases:
- Phase 1: Complete! We have completed the fencing of our property, which positions us to move forward with other building projects.
- Phase 2: building long drop toilets
- Phase 3: installing a pump water system
- Phase 4: building the main house/office
- Phase 5: building the hall with kitchen and covered stoop
- Phase 6: building dorms and self-catering rondavels

Each year we hold a number of events and outreaches as part of our ministry in the community and region.
Camps: Twice a year we hold camps for the children and youth who participate in our Saturday program. These camps allow us to go deeper with these kids on the topics of faith we deal with every week, as well as to disciple them for a more extended period of time than the weekly afternoon program allows.
Outreaches: To further expand the experiences of our children and youth we organize local outreaches to give them the opportunity to share Jesus with their neighboring villages. We also have a special relationship with the students and staff of a local school for disabled children, whom we visit to play together, help with life skills, and share the love of Jesus.
Community Events: Each December we host a end-of-the-year party with the kids from our Saturday program. The whole community is invited and we take the opportunity to share and celebrate all God has done that year; our kids present original poems and dramas and the community shares traditional dancing and singing. We also put on different events, like talent shows, where our kids get to share their passions and talents as an opportunity to connect with and impact more people from the community. Another passion is to provide opportunity for community development so we invite guests to share their skills and knowledge; this year a nurse from America put on a health information and Q&A session in the village.
